If you watch TV at all then you’ve for sure seen advertisements for Kaboom® and OxiClean® products. And if you’re an infomercial geek like I am you’ll know that both of these products were pitched by Billy Mays…many, many times.
I recently had the opportunity to try out Kaboom® Foam-Tastic™ bathroom scrubbing foam and the Kaboom® Scrub Free!™ Continuous Toilet Cleaning System.
Let me tell you what I liked and disliked about both of these products.
I want to explain that we have really hard water and no water softener at all. So maybe our hard water is reason why I may not have experienced fantastic results.
Likes:
- Easy to install.
- Keeps toilet cleaner in between regular cleanings.
- Because it install directly to the flushing mechanism, the product ends up in the bowl where it is needed, rather than dissolving in the tank.
- Lasts for 3 months and comes with stickers to place on the system so you know when you need to replace it.
Dislikes:
- Nothing in particular…other than this is not a replacement for regular cleanings. It helps, it definitely helps to keep your toilet cleaner. But you still need to dig out a wand and scrub it on a regular basis.
Likes:
- Sprays an even layer of foam over surface.
- Foam clings to the walls, doesn’t run immediately.
Dislikes:
- Strong smell. I had to leave the room for a few minutes. I will say that we have ZERO ventilation in our master bathroom. The windows don’t open and there isn’t a fan in there.
- The product claims to change from blue to white when the surface is clean. I found that it turned white almost immediately.
I used the Kaboom® Foam-Tasticâ„¢ on my counter, sink and shower. It cleaned the counter and sink area wonderfully. No complaints there. I have a stand-up, corner shower in my master bath. The cleaner didn’t do anything to the hard water stains on my glass shower door/wall. But the shower floor and other surfaces it cleaned up those areas quite well. So, not a total disappointment, as I think my glass shower door is a lost cause.
